The University at Buffalo is looking for people who meet the criteria listed to participate in the NY Quick WIC Study.

Here is what you should know about the study:

​The goal of this study is to gain a better understanding of how to improve the WIC customer shopping experience by working with grocery stores to bundle WIC foods.
  • You should only participate in this study if you:
    1. are at least 18 years of age or older
    2. have at least one child between the ages of 1 and 4
    3. currently receive WIC benefits and anticipate receiving benefits for the next 9 months
    4. live and/or do your grocery shopping in the city of Buffalo
    5. feel comfortable reading and speaking in English
    6. your child does not have any allergies would prevent them from eating foods used in the bundles
 
If you are eligible and choose to be in this study you will be asked to do the following:
  1. Continue to use your WIC benefits as you normally would.
  2. Complete two phone surveys- one at the start of the study and another one about 6 months later. Each survey will take about 15 minutes.
  3. Review the information we send you with recipes and shopping tips.  You can choose to receive this information by text, email or mail.
  4. Complete short monthly web-surveys that will take only about 2 minutes to complete
  5. Send pictures of receipts from WIC shopping trips via text, email, or mail.
 
If you complete all the research activities, you will receive a total of $100 in gift cards and have the opportunity to have your name entered into a raffle for incentives.
